Last week Kim Darst, 2009 Iditarod competitor, spoke about her
experiences preparing for the historic race. She brought along
Mitchie, one of her sled dogs, who is a skilled social butterfly
that charmed the audience.
Kim lives in Shingleton, MI where she runs Husky Haven Kennels.
In addition, Kim
is a helicopter pilot and runs a flight school in her native New
Jersey.
She was easy to work with and reasonably priced. After the
program, people mingled with each other, petted Mitchie, and
continued to ask questions about the Iditarod, caring for the dogs, and shared
their own dog stories. It was a pleasant evening for all.
