Author Tour and Night For Notables To
Feature 2023 Michigan Notable Books
April 5, 2023
LANSING – Authors of this year’s Michigan Notable Books selections will tour local libraries across every corner of Michigan this summer, the Library of Michigan announced today.
The 2023 Michigan Notable Books Author Tour will take place from April through June. Fifty Michigan libraries in the lower to upper peninsulas will host authors whose works were honored in January as 2023 Michigan Notable Books selections.
The Michigan Notable Books program annually selects 20 of the most outstanding books published in the previous calendar year that reflect Michigan's diverse ethnic, historical, literary, and cultural experiences.
“One of the great aspects of the Michigan Notable Books program is connecting authors with people across Michigan, especially in communities that don’t always have opportunities to meet with high caliber writers,” said State Librarian Randy Riley. “It’s wonderful
to hear the conversations at these author events as each title celebrates the uniqueness of life in Michigan.”
A full list of author tour events is available at www.Michigan.gov/NotableBooks.
In addition to the author tour, another way that the public can connect with the 2023 Michigan Notable Books authors is during the annual Night for Notables reception on Saturday, April 22 at the Library of Michigan. The event will feature two-time Michigan
Notable Books recipient Karen Dionne (The Marsh King’s Daughter and
The Wicked Sister) as the keynote speaker, and attendees can meet with Notable authors throughout the reception. Please visit the Library of Michigan Foundation’s website for further details at https://www.libraryofmichiganfoundation.com/mnbnightfornotables.
The Michigan Notable Books program and author tour are made possible through the support of the
