The Community Health Library at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City invites you to attend Information Anywhere: Mobile Technology, Libraries and Health.  This free class will be taught by Tiffany Tawzer, MLIS, Technology Coordinator for the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Greater Midwest Region (NN/LM-GMR).  

This class has been approved by the Medical Library Association for 4 CE contact hours.  A continental breakfast will be served.

This free class will provide an overview of mobile devices available today and how they impact libraries and healthcare. We will discuss Apple products including iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad, Google Android-powered phones, as well as other mobile devices. Popular uses and applications for these devices, with particular emphasis on those that support National Library of Medicine resources will be highlighted.

Participants will learn what it takes to create mobile applications and will participate in a hands-on activity to create a simple mobile website.  Quick Response Codes and Augmented Reality will also be discussed. If you own or have access to a mobile device, please bring it to the class.

Tiffany Tawzer is the Technology Coordinator for the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Greater Midwest Region (NN/LM-GMR).  Tiffany teaches NN/LM and Medical Library Association classes throughout the Midwest.
