The Library of Michigan is pleased to announce that we are hosting a YALSA Institute in Michigan this September. Librarians and public library staff who work with teens are encouraged to attend one of three
sessions. Thanks to the support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services the only cost is a $25 registration fee. Space is limited so register today for a “Teen-Centered
and Teen-Driven Library Services” session.
Lead by
Dr. Rachel M. Magee, we’ll cover teen development, current trends in library services to teens, and techniques for connecting with teens in your library and community. Attendees will complete this workshop with
updated understandings of teen needs and practices, as well as a plan for encouraging and supporting teens as active, engaged community members.
Each Institute runs from 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM, with doors opening at 9:00 AM.
