ARCs are great for prizes or to put on your free shelf but shouldn’t be added to the collection. In fact, you can often get local indies to donate ARCs for your Summer Reading giveaways.

I use any ARCs I get as prize books.
It is very bad practice to add any advance reading copies / galleys / ARCs to the collection. They are not the finished book, and likely contain typos or other errors.
Please feel free to give them away, but please don't add them to your collection or sell them (it's illegal).

A patron had recently donated a few titles that state that they are the "Advanced Proof" editions. The titles in question are, "I'm Glad My Mom Died" by Jennette McCurdy
and "Control Freak" by Cliff "CLIFFYB" Bleszinski. We're wondering if any other libraries had received donations like this and how they went about cataloging them.
