Hello Michlib,
The Hastings Public Library, Leighton Township Library, Gladwin Library, and Grand Ledge Area District Library were fortunate to host Michelle Briggs in June. Our patrons truly enjoyed Michelle’s presentation, Illustrated History of the Soo Locks.
Michelle has several additional programs she offered to present during her June visit and is willing to return to Southwest Michigan. She shared the following:
“I do not currently have anything scheduled for Southwest Michigan, but I would be glad to come back in the fall, winter, or spring. We did have people ask through social media if I would be going to Grand Rapids, Holland, or Kalamazoo. Do you know of any libraries in those towns or the general area that might be interested? I am more likely to get the travel approved if I visit more than one place during the trip.
I am pleased that my presentation piqued people’s interest in the Soo Locks!”

Last night BPL hosted the Soo Locks Chief Park Ranger Michelle Briggs' presentation The Illustrated History of the Soo Locks. The presentation was fantastic! Michelle was knowledgeable, lively, personable, and engaging. She also went above and beyond to make sure her appearance even happened.
