The Traverse Area District Library, headquartered in Traverse City, Michigan, is searching for an enthusiastic, well‐rounded and technologically savvy professional librarian to serve as  Coordinator of Youth  Services.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of innovative and exciting library services throughout the library district for children from birth through age 12 and have a thorough understanding of budgeting and collection development  practices.  

Located in one of the Midwest’s most desirable communities, the region is home to  Northwestern Michigan College, Interlochen Center for the Arts, the Traverse City Film Festival, the National Cherry Festival, and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The Traverse Area District Library serves a population of 90,000; Grand Traverse County and three additional contracted townships.  The staff of 70 is partially unionized.  The three branch libraries have a total budget of over $4.8 million and circulate over 1.25 million items annually.

The position requires a Master’s Degree in Library Science or equivalent ALA accredited degree with a minimum of three years of relevant public library experience, including some supervisory experience. Salary range:  $48,000 ‐ $53,000 commensurate with experience.  Excellent benefits.
