New ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ PSAs capture the action and adventure found at the library

In conjunction with the anticipated release of “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” on Dec. 20, 2017, American Library Association (ALA) and Sony Pictures are offering free action-packed audio, social media, and video public service announcements (PSAs). Available
for download until Feb. 28, the library-themed announcements feature Jack Black and promote transformative resources libraries and library staff offer.

2018 Nonfiction Award finalists announced
The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), selected five books as finalists for the
2018 Excellence in Nonfiction for Young Adults Award, which honors the best nonfiction books written for young adults between Nov. 1, 2016 and Oct. 31, 2017. YALSA will name the 2018 award winner at the
Youth Media Awards on Feb. 12 in Denver during the American Library Association’s Midwinter Meeting.
