A few months ago someone posted that they were looking for a good presenter on Alzheimer's, and I have a recommendation. Saline District Library had an excellent presentation from Carol Waarala, MSW, LMSW, and Certified Specialist in Aging & Dementia in October, and she's returning in December for a follow-up presentation. We had a great turnout in October, and everyone commented that the presentation was highly informative and that she was a very personable presenter, sharing many stories of her experience both as a social worker and as a family caregiver for who father, who had Alzheimer's and Vascular Dementia.

Carol offers a wide array of presentations, which you can read about at her website: https://seekingpositivepathways.com/. We highly recommend her! (And yes, if you haven't already guessed from the last name, this is my mother. Sure, I'm a bit biased -- but I've also met plenty of people who have seen my last name and asked, "Any relationship to Carol Waarala? I saw her present on Alzheimer's and she was fantastic!")
