We had a patron comment recently about how inconvenient it is to come into the library just to verify their account and sign paperwork. It really got me thinking about our process.

Right now, we rely on a driver’s license in person to verify that a patron lives within our legal service area. I’d love to find a way to let patrons renew or verify their accounts entirely from home.

Does your library use address verification software or another third-party tool to verify local addresses online? How do you handle remote account renewals?

Open to any thoughts, vendor recommendations, or ideas!
