Social Determinants of Health Month

To raise awareness of the impact social inequities have on health, Governor Whitmer and our colleagues in the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) have proclaimed January Social Determinants of Health Month.

"Throughout the month, local, state, and federal partners will highlight their efforts to address factors such as food insecurity, unsafe housing, lack of transportation, and other disparities that contribute to persistent and preventable health inequities. The goal of the month is to “improve awareness of current resources for residents, highlight successful community driven solutions and develop stronger partnerships to support a greater impact in community.” Towards that end, this collection of titles from the Library of Michigan’s ProQuest DEI eBook Collection can help you learn more about these concerns.

Access to ProQuest DEI eBook Collection and other Library of Michigan online resources by visiting www.Michigan.gov/LMDatabases with your Library of Michigan library card. Don't have a card? Go to www.Michigan.gov/LibraryCard to apply.
