Hello all,

We are planning to retrofit our existing shelving with casters, allowing us to open up space in our main reading room for programming.  Our current shelving is 22” wide, 60” high, and, ideally, 9’ long – however we could create 6’ sections if we had to.

My questions for anyone out there with movable shelving are –

Where did you purchase your shelving from?

What are the dimensions of your shelves?

What type of flooring do you roll them on?

Do you have any words of caution or advice?

At this time, our head of facilities plans to do the installation, if you also took on a project to retrofit shelving with casters and have a recommendation (or warning) on a type of caster, we would also appreciate learning from your experiences!

Thank you!

Megan
