The Library of Michigan will be holding two in-person Trustee Roundtables in July.

July 11, 2022, 1:00pm-3:30pm - Farmington Community Library, Liberty Street Branch for more information or to register, visit the Event Registration Page.

July 14, 2022, 1:00pm-3:30pm - Petoskey, Carnegie Building for more information or to register, visit the Event Registration Page.

These two events provide an opportunity for public library trustees to meet with other trustees from around the state and discuss issues facing Michigan public libraries. Participants will also learn about resources available from the Library of Michigan.  We hope to see many of you at the two locations in July.  If you are unable to attend this summer look out for an announcement for a similar event to be held virtually in the late fall. Bring your questions and your best advice!

In September we have the return of online trustee training.

September 13, 1:00pm-2:30pm – Trustee Training 101: The Basics, visit the Event Registration Page
An introduction to being a Library Trustee. What to know, who to ask and how to avoid pitfalls.

September 20, 1:00pm-2:30pm – Trustee Training 102: Advanced Trustee, visit the Event Registration Page

This session will build on the information in "Library Board 101" and discuss topics such as handling board discord, member recruitment, officer duties and more.
