Under the management of the Engagement & Design Department Head, the Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and creating internal and external communication content for use on the web, media releases, marketing collateral, newsletters, presentations, advertising and marketing campaigns. The Communications Specialist works closely with freelancers as needed and consults with community partners. The nature of the work requires daytime, evening and weekend hours. Regular part-time employees are non-exempt from overtime under FLSA guidelines.
SCHEDULED HOURS AND COMPENSATION
*
Twenty-eight (28) hours per week
*
Negotiable schedule, some remote work possible
*
$22.62-$27.69 per hour
*
Paid vacation accrual with one week of vacation available upon hire
*
Annual sick leave allowance
*
Paid holidays: nine official holidays, plus three discretionary holidays and your birthday
*
Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Stellar Staff Award program, Longevity Awards and an active Social Committee

CPL is a dynamic library with a diverse patron base and a friendly staff. We are seeking a Circulation Assistant who enjoys being busy and likes working with a variety of audiences. Circulation Assistants primarily work at our Main Check Out Desk, issuing library cards and handling patron questions about their card account and library services.
SCHEDULED HOURS AND COMPENSATION
*
Twenty (20) hours per week
*
Monday 3:00-9:00 PM
*
Tuesday 2:00-9:00 PM
*
Alternating Friday/Saturday 11:00 AM-6:00 PM and one Sunday per month
*
$18.05-$21.23 per hour
*

Hello Fellow Librarians,
Just a question, because I am curious...
Our Friends of the Library Retale Market (used book sale) has seen a decrease in sales this year over last year. We have been doing a lot of construction projects, so we just assumed it was due to that. However, I am just wondering if other libraries have been experiencing the same. Maybe it has more to do with the economy (rising gas prices, groceries, etc.) and consumer cuts to discretionary spending.
Have your Friends been experiencing similar trends?

Happy Monday,
Wondering if any of your libraires utilize digital building signage and/or navigational tools for visually impaired patrons that connect to personal handheld digital devices.
I've received a request from a patron for this who suggested we look into RightHear https://www.right-hear.com/, soundscape, and wayfindr.
Curious what other libraries are doing to increase accessibility, in addition to Braile signage.
