Marketing… Newsletters… Facebook… dpi… printing… PowerPoint… SEO… nowadays, you need to be a Jack-(or Jill)-of-all-trades to communicate with your visitors and members. It can be daunting, especially if you haven’t had much practice working in that area. This “crash course” will touch upon a little bit of everything in the marketing and communications fields. Hands-on activities will include writing a press release, designing a newsletter/flyer, and creating text for a web page for proper search engine optimization.

The Historical Society of Michigan is our state’s oldest cultural organization, founded in 1828 by territorial governor Lewis Cass and explorer Henry Schoolcraft. A nongovernmental nonprofit, the Society focuses on publications, conferences, education, awards and recognition programming, and support for local history organizations to preserve and promote Michigan’s rich history.
