All, As you are aware, every three years TLN sends an rfp for statewide discounts for books and av materials to selected vendors. The current edition of the rfp was issued in July, 2015 and went effective October 1 of that year. In previous cycles Barnes and Noble had been a participant in the Michigan statewide discounts, by virtue of a reply to the rfp. This time around, on account the rfp apparently landed on the desk (and in the inbox) of a person who had left the company, no response was forthcoming. BN was made aware of this discrepancy, and asked if they could participate by virtue of an addendum. There is precedent for this; I recall a time many years ago when Baker and Taylor neglected to reply to a book (av didn't much exist in those years) bid issued by what was then known as Wayne Oakland Library Federation. As WOLF did in excess of $1,000,000 annually in centralized acquisitions business with B&T in those days, we felt it prudent to issue an addendum for our then two county library system. The circumstances are a bit different now, but as many libraries n Michigan do business with BN we were on board with an addendum for them.
