This is a reminder that the 2014 New and Advanced Director Workshops are scheduled to be held at the Library of Michigan in Lansing on the following dates:
 
New Director Workshop - Thursday, September 18, 2014
Advanced Director Workshop - Friday, September 19, 2014
 
The cost for each of these events is $30.

Attendance at these workshops is necessary for director certification as part of the qualification criteria for state aid to public libraries.
Current standards for state aid for public libraries require:
Classes 1 - 3: The director shall complete the New Director Workshop within 1 year of initial directorship appointment.
Classes 4 - 6: The director shall complete the New Director Workshop within 1 year of initial directorship appointment and complete the Advanced Director Workshop within 2 years of initial appointment.
