Hi Erin – We have 2 Paper Gator bins behind our library! It is a fantastic fundraiser and green initiative. Three years ago I looked at how many tons of paper we had recycled in them and it was equivalent to the weight of 44 cars. Shortly after that we added a second bin. If you call Paper Gator they will tell you whether you can add a bin at your library. It depends if they already have some in the area. Ours is very popular (the local newspaper uses it for printing overflow and we use if for Friends overflow also – you DO NOT have to remove covers!!!). We make about $1000 a year now having two bins. (Library gets $25/ton of paper) Andrea Estelle, MLIS Brighten the Corner Where You Are! It is worth it though, as the bins are large and you do not need to remove the covers. (at least I didn't) The bins are hosted by a place that is using the collection as a fundraiser. Good Luck.
