Madcat plays with some of my musician friends at summer festivals.  He is amazing!

Subject: [Michlib-l] Musical program recommendation

The Norton Shores Branch Library had an amazing musical event this fall with Grammy-award winning artist Peter Madcat Ruth.  Madcat sings and plays harmonica, guitar, high-hat, ukulele, jaw harp, banjo, kalimba, penny-whistle and pretty near anything else he can get his hands on, and received the first standing ovation so far in the concert series I’ve been doing in my two years at this library! Our event was adult oriented and the musical content was suited to that with blues, American roots music and jazz, but I could definitely see him putting on a kid-friendly family event as well.  Madcat hails from Ann Arbor and his website is available at http://www.madcatmusic.net/index.html  The Norton Shores Branch Library will definitely have him back again sometime.
