The Portland District Library is seeking two part-time library clerks.  Duties include checking books in and out, processing books, helping patrons meet their information needs, and other tasks that go along with working in this busy library.  The successful candidate must enjoy working with the public, have a friendly and positive attitude, and be computer literate and attentive to detail. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older, and have a high school diploma.

 

One candidate will be trained to take over the cataloging of materials.  The hours of work for this position will be:

·        Mondays from 2:00pm – 8:15pm

·        Wednesdays from 8:45am – 4:00pm

·        Thursdays from 4:00pm – 8:15pm

·        Fridays from 8:45am – 1:00pm

·        Every third Saturday from 8:45am – 2:15pm

 

The other candidate will work in our youth department, and will be responsible for a weekly storytime and other youth programming as needed. The hours of work for this position will be:

·        Mondays from 8:45am – 3:00pm

·        Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00pm – 8:15pm

·        Fridays from 8:45am – 3:00pm
