Hi everyone, At CADL, we have one of the best Marketing Directors, Trent Smiley. I’m sad for CADL, but happy for Trent, to announce that he is retiring from CADL on Friday, May 19 and taking a position at the Free Library of Philadelphia as their Marketing Director. While at CADL, Trent has guided us into digital marketing, used SEO and Google Analytics to create better ads and promotions, created effective messaging for getting our millages passed, developed and expanded our local media and business partnerships, negotiated sponsorships with large community partners, and the list goes on and on. We even had a library commercial on our local channels during the Grammys and Super Bowl!!! He’s done countless presentations on marketing at many conferences and has offered his expertise to several libraries in Michigan and around the nation. On a professional and personal level, I’ve so enjoyed working with Trent and he will be missed. If we were a sports franchise, we would definitely retire Trent’s jersey and raise it into the rafters at CADL.
