
We use On The Clock https://www.ontheclock.com/. It's a web-based timeclock made by a Michigan company. https://auth.ontheclock.com/register?r=OTC2018625723 We use this time clock at our library. It is easy to use – the card slides in and it records the time and date on the card. Amy, our director, purchased it earlier this year as the one we had been using was finicky. This one is wonderful! (Amano PIX-95) We use the free version of Homebase. I'd say overall I'm fairly happy with it. It saves so much more time then the physical timesheets my staff used to put it. It has its short-comings. The free version doesn't allow for more than 3 shift notes a month, which is fairly useless. It limits my ability to add things like time off policies, etc, once your free trial is done. I just tell my staff to ignore what Homebase says for time off and look at their pay stubs instead. It's both an app and can be opened on the desktop. You can do a shared clock which allows people to clock in using a 6-digit code and allows access to the schedule in case they want to check who is working when. We use Quickbooks for our payroll so it isn't connected, but we use the timesheets generated by Homebase to add hours to Quickbooks which has worked fairly well so far. Most of my younger staff have no problem using it (as long as they remember to clock in and clock out). I've had one or two staff in the past (both less tech savvy) who struggled with it a bit more, but overall I say it works well for what we need it to do. MADL uses Sling for scheduling, timekeeping and PTO. People can clock-in on the website, on the phone app, or through an iPad that we've issued to the branches that our IT set up as a kiosk mounted to the wall. It's very simple to use both administratively and for the staff & cheap - it's $0.50 per account, per month (billed based on # of people on the last day of the month I think - AND I want to say it's totally free if you have less than 50 people?). Sling staff are super helpful and responsive. I've only ever had to ask a question once or twice and have never had any issues. We use When I Work for scheduling and use the time clock module on a cheap Android tablet--works great! Our staff login and out using the paychex app. It's easy to use. Staff can login on a pc at the library too, but the app is nice because outreach staff are able to use it wherever they are working. One of our librarians did outreach at the tree lighting at the township offices last week. Sometimes our teen librarian does outreach at one of the high schools which both open up before we do, so the flexibility is nice. As a manager, I am also able to see where they logged in or out. TimeClockPlus Square (Square Reader) also has a timeclock app. I hope this helps everyone else as much as it helped me!
