Hello Michigan library land,

 

I’m reaching out to gather some advice and general information about how other libraries manage their video game collections, particularly in relation to loss prevention.

 

At JDL, we've unfortunately seen an increase in both the theft of video games directly from our shelves and situations where games are checked out and never returned — often because they’ve been resold.

 

I’d love to hear how your library handles this. Specifically:

 

Any insights, strategies, or even lessons learned would be greatly appreciated as we explore options to better safeguard our collection.
