Rauchholz Memorial Library in Hemlock, MI is looking for a fun, creative member to join our library team. We are a Class 2 library located near Saginaw and Midland.

 

POSITION:   Youth Librarian/Director’s Assistant--- Full time (40 hours)

                       includes evening hours;   during Sept. –May includes Saturday hours

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: high school diploma, experience with youth services (teen and children), communication skills, knowledge of technology and electronic resources, Internet, social media, and the ability to create and implement projects and programs. Also be willing to learn cataloging skills.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducting programs and outreach activities—primarily children and teen but at times may include adult services, assisting with cataloging, assists with teen and children collection development, provides instruction and support to patrons’ use of technology and devices, circulation duties, and other duties as assigned.

 

 

SALARY RANGE: $25,000 - 28,000 per year

General Job Description: Responsible for youth programming and outreach activities (teen and children); assist with youth collection development, assist with cataloging, circulation duties, and other duties as assigned.

 

Duties:

·         Children and teen programming

·         Assist with children’s and teen collection development

·         Prepares marketing tools for children and teen programming

·         Assist with cataloging and processing new materials

·         Assist with library’s social media

·         Assist with circulation

·         Assist with interloans

·         Assist and supports patrons use of technology and devices

·         Assumes responsibility for Library operations in the absence  of the director

·         Open and closes library when scheduled

·         Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

·         High school diploma, associate degree

·         Understanding of library services

·         Children/Teen programming

·         Computer fluency in Windows and Microsoft Office

·         Communication skills; fluent in English (written and oral)

·         Experience with social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)

·         Strong writing skills

·         Valid driver’s license
