Hello!

I know we have a lot of webinar opportunities right now. My head of Circulation sent the following information to me and asked me to share it with all of you if you are interested:

My very good friend worked for IMLS for several years before joining Legal Services Corporation.  He and his team developed this course for OCLC.  When we reopen there will be a lot of patrons who are looking for help accessing legal services.  I think this could be great for our librarians.

This course will cover

·         Understanding the role of public libraries in addressing the justice gap

·         Recognizing the difference between legal information and legal advice

·         Conducting the legal reference interview; addressing patron stress and anxiety

·         Reviewing and strengthening your library’s civil legal reference collection

·         Exploring trusted local- and state-specific online self-help resources

·         Identifying and cultivating relationships with local organizations that offer legal aid, legal referrals
