The St. Charles City-County Library District has an immediate need for a Youth Services Manager. This position holds primary responsibility for developing and implementing District-wide policy, programs and services for youth, birth through 18.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Develop and deploy District-wide initiatives to serve youth and families with children, both in and outside of library facilities.
• Invest time in the community promoting the library and creating partnerships with schools and other agencies serving youth and families.
• In collaboration with branch managers, provide coordination and oversight of branch and outreach programs and services for children birth to 18.
• Work closely with the Adult Services Manager to coordinate public programs to ensure thematic consistency and focus on District goals.
• Work with the Collection Services Manager to ensure the collection is current and that useful resources are available for children and teens with a wide range of reading ability.
• Collaborate with the Marketing Department in the promotion of library materials, programs, services, and special events for youth.
• Participate in recruitment of children’s and teen services staff in the District and develop and provide training to youth services staff.
• Formulate and manage the budget for youth services activities.
• Supervise Youth Services Department staff.

Ideal candidate will have expertise in youth services as well as proven ability to effectively lead and motivate staff; ability to interact positively with customers and staff and work as part of a team ; proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and google tools . MLS degree from an accredited program and a minimum of five years directly related experience in a public library are required.

The District offers a complete benefit package which includes healthcare insurance, a defined life-time benefit retirement plan, and deferred compensation plan. Entry level salary, $66,828.00, additional compensation possible with experience. (The range goes to $80,000)
