First-generation college students encompass an ever-increasing number of people and represent a vital contact point for libraries. The course will address the ways that academic libraries can enhance their in-person and digital spaces,
outreach, and instruction to prepare first-generation students for success as they begin their academic career. Learners will gain an understanding of the unique challenges faced by first-generation students as they enter and continue through college, develop
practical support strategies, and apply them in their communities.
