Many of us in Michigan love everything about winter: the approximately 11,000 potentially frozen lakes to ice fish, the 40 or so resorts for ski lovers, winter camping in dozens of our state parks, and even snowshoeing on state land. But, for those that find nothing more exhilarating than gripping that antique snowmobile pull cord for the first winter tug, firing up a prized snowblower (snowthrower), or even pulling out the old chainsaw for its annual cut of the Christmas tree, then the Small Engine Repair Reference Center can prove to be an invaluable resource to keep that power equipment running smoothly.

Chainsaws

Hundreds of service manuals for models covering 29 different brands, including Alpina, Castor, Echo, Frontier, Husqvarna, John Deere, Makita, Remington, Stihl, and Tanaka, can be found under the Outdoor Power Equipment section of this eResource. These manuals are for models made before 1998.

Snowmobiles

From the classic Arctic Cats and Fox Tracs to the little known Harley Davidson and  Ski Whiz manuals, there are over 91 different brands of snowmobiles covered, ranging from the 1960s through the early 2000s. This section includes hard-to-find manuals on retired and vintage models. There is also information specific to Engine Service Fundamentals, Track & Suspension, Track Drive, and Skis & Steering.

Snowthrowers

With 26 different snowthrower brands and dozens of models covered, there is plenty to explore in these service manuals that predate 1990. Briggs & Stratton, Cub Cadet, Ford, J.C. Penney, John Deere, Montgomery Ward, Toro, and Yardman are some of the models covered. These can also be found under the Outdoor Power Equipment section of this eResource.
