You may want to investigate a spine label printer with “bartender” software from BayScan Technologies. They have some really nice label printers that are customizable with the software. It also prevents having do “big batches” or having to refeed sheets of laser labels into the printer. The printers can do one spine label and pocket label at a time. We have using a dot matrix printer and looking to switch to a newer printer before it gives up the ghost and have enjoyed the ability to printer a few labels at a time. Expect we will have to go to full sheet laser printing and just get used to waiting for bigger batches or re-feeding partial sheets.
