Related to railroads, I've been working on two exhibits for Michigan Memories about railroads in Michigan from 1830-1909 and 1910-1970.

We have some finishing touches to make on the two pages, but I went ahead and gave them a soft launch today so I could share them. I hope they're helpful!

Michigan Memories is part of the Michigan Service Hub, which is a collaborative project created by the Library of Michigan, Wayne State University, the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Western Michigan University, and the Midwest Collaborative for Library Services. We work with archives, libraries, museums, and historical societies around the state to help them share their online collections through the Digital Public Library of America (DPLA) as well as Michigan Memories.

We had the Kalamazoo Model Railroad Historical Society and the presenter, Mark, has a wealth of knowledge on a wide variety of railroad history presentation topics! https://kmrhs.org/

Their traveling model railroad is currently being remodeled, so it isn't currently available, but is also a very interactive option when it's ready. 

For libraries outside the southwest Michigan area, there is probably a model railroad / history society near you, because there are several throughout the state and most of them are excited to share their knowledge!
