Hi all,

Talking with some library directors recently about increasing MeL and MeLCat visibility in their communities, one commented that adding the MeL Discovery Search Box to the library’s website might be beneficial.  Another suggested that adding a MeLCat search widget could be equally useful.  Actually, you can do both with the tools available on the Library of Michigan’s site under MeL Information, MeL Toolbars, Widgets and Helper Applications. We offer quite a variety from Britannica Apps to a MeLCat keyword search plug-in for Firefox.  Promoting MeL on your website reinforces the idea that your library (public, school, academic, special) is the place for community members to start when looking for resources for personal enrichment, research, and school assignments and connecting with the larger Michigan library family. Thanks!

MeL Minutes are brought to you by the Library of Michigan.  Want more information on MeL?  Stay tuned for next week’s MeL Minute available on many Michigan library listservs, email us at contact@mel.org  or visit http://mel.org. We encourage you to share MeL Minutes with your colleagues and networks.
