This is a great position for getting experience while still working on your degree!
SCHEDULE: Mon-Tu 4pm-8pm, Wed 12-4, Th 9:30-3, alternating Fri or Sat 9:30am-5pm year-round.
RATE OF PAY: $21.25 hourly
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Master's degree in library science from an ALA-accredited library science program or currently enrolled for this degree.
TYPICAL EXAMPLES OF WORK:
An employee in this class may be called upon to do any or all of the following:

Assist the community with information resources and technology support.

Promote the value of the library to the community.

Work collaboratively with other staff members of the library to generate programs that appeal to the community.

Conduct outreach programs by providing library services offsite to promote the library to those who cannot come to the Library themselves.

Assist as needed with circulation, interlibrary loan functions, youth services, teen services, and community services.

Select and deselect areas of collection as assigned as assigned (collection development).

Utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and other programs such as Adobe Acrobat

Establish and maintain effective working relations, and work pleasantly and effectively with elected officials, department heads, supervisors, employees, union officials, other governmental agencies and the general
public even during stressful situations.

Occasionally act as staff member in charge when full-time staff are out of building.

Perform related work as required.
