
Position Description: Financial Services Manager Job Title: Bookkeeper Location: Charlotte Community Library, Charlotte, Michigan Department: Administration Reports to: Library Director FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, part-time position (20-25 hours) Job Type: Part-time Pay Range: $13 - $19 per hour Position Summary: The Bookkeeper at the Charlotte Community Library supports the Library Director by performing various financial and administrative tasks. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in budget preparation, and ensuring the efficient financial operation of the library. Key Responsibilities: * Financial record keeping * Accounts payable and receivable * Financial reporting * Budget support * Audit and compliance * Grants and fund management * Administrative support Qualifications: * Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred. * Experience: * Minimum of 1 year of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and commensurate experience will be considered. * Experience in a non-profit or public sector environment is a plus. * Skills and Abilities: * Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. * Good communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Basic knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Work Environment * Office environment within the library. * Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required.
