Part-Time Customer Services Clerk II (YDL-Whittaker Road location)

DATE:                                  July 10, 2020

POSITION:                         Customer Services Clerk II (.5 FTE, 20 hours per week)

NATURE OF WORK:

Customer Service duties as assigned by the Customer Services Coordinator.  Typical duties may include, but are not limited to:

· Providing direct customer assistance to library patrons by checking library materials in and out, collecting fines, issuing library cards, etc.

· Greeting visitors, explaining library services and procedures, and assisting patrons with self-check, printing, copying, scanning, faxing, and use of other library equipment

· Answering and directing incoming telephone calls

· Processing patron holds and interlibrary loan materials

· Handling cash register transactions and deposits with accuracy

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma

· Pleasant, service-oriented demeanor

· Familiarity with computers

· Experience working with diverse populations

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to function in a professional manner, work independently, and use good judgment
• Flexible and dependable
• Good attention to detail
• Enthusiastic, positive team player
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Public library experience preferred

HOURS:                             

Part-time, 20 hours per week (including regularly scheduled evenings and weekends).

SALARY/BENEFITS:

Hourly wage range $12.71 - $16.58. Pro-rated paid time off and paid holidays.  Employer paid retirement contribution after one year of service. This position is part of the AFSCME union bargaining unit.
