The Oakland University Libraries seek a highly dependable, resourceful part-time librarian to deliver in-person library instruction to first-year students and to contribute to the creation, evaluation and implementation of online learning objects (interactive tutorials, videos, etc.). In addition, the successful candidate will provide exceptional research assistance through individual consultations with library users and at our reference desk, and contribute to other library projects as assigned, including assisting with collection development activities.
Hours: May include weekday,
evening and weekend shifts,15 hours/week, beginning Sept. 1, 2016.
Qualifications:
Required: ALA-accredited MLS or
equivalent with a strong commitment to teaching and public service; experience in developing learning objects, instructional videos,
and online tutorials; familiarity with a wide
range of instructional technologies (e.g., Camtasia, Jing, Adobe Captivate,
etc.); experience
providing reference service.
Desired: Library instruction
experience, preferably in an academic library setting; familiarity with learning management systems and the ability to
integrate instructional technologies in courses with a library component.
