Board Training Resources Public library boards have an array of options for training , both live presentations and online options: Cooperative Directors will train boards on a variety of topics. Shirley Bruursema, an experienced trustee from Kent District Library and an amazing board consultant trains many boards. Myself, Clare Membiela from the Library of Michigan trains boards on a variety of topics, and has a monthly webinar on topics of interest to boards and directors. Many Library law attorneys will conduct board training, for example, I know Anne Seurynck does. Digital, On-Demand Options: Niche Academy - There are many modules pertinent to boards. https://my.nicheacademy.com/staffskills WebJunction - Also has a wide variety of useful presentations ready to go http://www.webjunction.org/ United for Libraries - Division of ALA focused on Boards, FriendsGgroups and Foundations. This option also requires registration, but it contains courses, webinars, and many more valuable resources specifically for library boards.
