Hello, libraries!  As you may know, this past spring the federal government extended the deadline for REAL ID to May 3, 2023. When it goes into effect, this federally required standard for identification means anyone who travels by air within the United States will be unable to board a plane without a REAL ID-compliant document. A REAL ID also will be required to enter certain federal facilities.

To ensure the public has the correct date and are aware of this deadline, please be sure to update any REAL ID information you have on your website with the correct date and by posting the attached flyer in areas visible to the public.
