The Clarke Historical Library at Central Michigan University is delighted to welcome Matthew Reinhart, an internationally renowned paper engineer and pop-up book author (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_Reinhart). His award-winning works employ a variety artistic and paper-engineering techniques to make seemingly simple books unfold into beautiful 3-D objects, only to fold back onto themselves with the turn of a page. Here is a video of one of his books – Star Wars: A Galactic Pop-up Adventure – in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8fxp4oJyPs

Come learn about his works, how he landed in this career, what inspires him, and even how you can create your own pop-up!

The presentation is this Thursday, October 22, at 7:00 pm. It is free and open to the public. The event will be broadcast via Central Michigan University’s videoconferencing tool, Webex, and it will be recorded to enjoy it at a later time. Registration is required for the event and the shortened link to register is: https://bit.ly/2TamNv7

Feel free to share this information far and wide!
