Hey folks,
Last night we hosted Hillary Pine (Northern Lower Peninsula Historian for the DNR & Michigan History Center) at our library for the program: An Outdoor Army: The CCC in Michigan.
It was well-attended, despite the weather, and Hillary is both very knowledgeable about her topic, and a really good presenter to boot.
Fascinating foray into this Great Depression-era program that transformed Michigan’s landscape in ways that can still be seen today.
Incidentally, the Higgins Lake Nursery & CCC Museum is a MAP participant--
and it makes for a great day trip, too!
