The Library of Michigan is pleased to announce American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grants! Two grants programs are open for applications, an ARPA Equipment grant and an ARPA Capacity grant.

ARPA Equipment Grant program
This ARPA grant program is designed to assist public libraries through support for outreach equipment to provide safe services, such as outreach vehicles, library kiosks, library lockers, etc.
Eligible applicants are legally established Michigan public libraries that are eligible for state aid at the time of application. The grant priorities are:
The grant period is approximately 13 months (September 2021 to September 30, 2022) and funding is from $25,000 to $250,000. Funding is by reimbursement only.
Applications are due Thursday, July 15, 2021 by 5:00 PM EST. An application webinar is Tuesday, June 22nd at 2:00 PM. Registration is on the ARPA Equipment grant page.
The grant program is competitive.
ARPA Capacity Grant program
This ARPA grant program is designed to assist public and academic libraries through statewide support for PPE supplies, digital inclusion devices and services, and
digital content. Eligible applicants are Michigan library cooperatives established under P.A. 89 of 1977 or Michigan non-profit associations or organizations committed primarily to resource sharing and/or the advancement of statewide or regional library
services. The grant priorities are:
The grant period is approximately 13 months (September 2021 to September 30, 2022) and funding is from $250,000 to $2,000,000. Funding is by reimbursement only.
Applications are due Thursday, July 15, 2021 by 5:00 PM EST. An application webinar is Tuesday, June 22nd at 10:00 AM. Registration is on the ARPA Capacity grant page.
The grant program is competitive.
