Workplace Mental Health

From Awareness to Action: Cultivating a Workplace Culture of Mental Well-Being

On May 15, we hosted the second of a three-part series with Dr. Michelle Kees of the University of Michigan, designed to provide practical strategies to foster a workplace culture that prioritizes well-being. Throughout this series, participants have learned how to reduce stigma, promote open dialogue and contribute to a work environment that enhances resilience, engagement and overall well-being. The third episode of the series will take place next week on Thursday, June 12. 

Episode 1: The Reality of Mental Health at Work

The first session of the series introduced why mental health matters in the workplace. Topics included an overview of common mental health conditions, the impact of stigma at work and testing out mental health myths vs. realities.

Episode 2: Leaders Lead - Fostering a Culture of Support

The second session aimed to help leaders understand their role in fostering a supportive workplace culture. Topics included how leadership impacts mental health, along with small, immediate changes leaders can make to normalize well-being in the workplace and enhance team resilience.

Episode 3: Embedding Mental Health and Well-Being into Workplace Culture

The final session of the series will focus on actionable strategies for embedding mental health and well-being into workplace culture, going beyond awareness to real impact. Topics will include best-practice policies, programs and initiatives, along with effective approaches for implementation.
