StoryCorps Connect is a free, online interview tool that allows people to record interviews with loved ones remotely,
share their conversations online, and preserve them at the Library of Congress. Developed with librarians and educators in mind, Connect comes with resources to help organize a drive for community engagement, learning, and story-sharing. Visit
StoryCorps Connect to record a conversation, or to download the Great Questions list, guides to recording, toolkits for teachers and
community organizations, and more. To date, 600,000+ people have participated in StoryCorps interviews face-to-face—this is the first time it's happening remotely.

social justice issues.The newest installment is
Libraries Respond – Black Lives Matter. The resource provides key definitions and concrete tools for library workers on how they can
be involved in the Black Lives Matter movement, from resources on educating yourself to critically examining library policies. If you have suggestions for additional resources, please contact

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the19th Amendment, the American Library Association and the Women's Suffrage Centennial
Commission are working together to distribute 6,000 women’s suffrage books to libraries across the country. Public and school libraries are encouraged to
apply for the youth book sets. The deadline to apply is June 15, 2020. Each set consists of three books corresponding to different
reading levels: elementary readers, middle school readers, and high school readers. This donation celebrates the ratification of the 19th amendment and highlights the importance of libraries as hubs of civic education and engagement.

Results from a new
Libraries Respond: COVID-19 Survey show libraries are involved in community crisis response, cautiously planning for re-opening facilities,
working to meet the educational needs of students/researchers, and anticipating patron demand. Libraries reported they are making or distributing personal protective equipment, addressing food insecurity, and moving summer learning programs online. A majority
of libraries are uncertain about when they can re-open their buildings, with 37% reporting a phased re-opening in June and July and 47% unsure when buildings will begin to re-open. To learn more,
