We do not require background checks for performers; we always have staff present at children's and teen events.

Subject: [Michlib-l] Background checks

All,

Do you require background checks for performers or community partners who are conducting programs or activities on your behalf without library staff present? For instance, if you offer a teen or children’s writing class led by a local author, would you require a background check if library staff were not present during the class?

Thank you for your input in advance.
