This chain has made me curious how many of your libraries do background checks for performers?  We use our local PD for background checks on staff and volunteers - especially those working with children. But we've not done this for performers or hired presenters.

If you do, are you doing this annually for folks who are regular presenters? 

My mind melts a little thinking about asking our PD to background check for every person (band member, etc) who comes to our library in the course of the year.
