Jackson District Library is excited to announce the opening of our Community Services Coordinator position. If you are passionate about serving a diverse community and connecting patrons and staff members to community resources, this could be the perfect job for you! The Community Services Coordinator will be responsible for interacting with patrons in varying ways and keeping abreast of trends that impact diverse groups of people. An effective Community Services Coordinator must be welcoming and hospitable and be able to create strategies to develop, coordinate, manage, and promote in-house and off-site programs and services that target high-need and underresourced populations. The Community Services Coordinator must have knowledge of community resources, as well as a solid understanding of JDL policies and procedures. They must also have a desire to identify and build community partnerships. A central focus for this role is to increase library visibility through partnerships and information sharing. In order to thrive in this role, you must be creative and enthusiastic about serving community residents and bringing library services out into the greater community. The Community Services Coordinator is expected to be JDL's biggest advocate and will serve as a resource and a model for how library staff can work effectively with patrons experiencing life changes.
