The U.S. Department of Education announced temporary changes to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. Through October 31, 2022, federal student loan borrowers may receive credit for past payments that would not otherwise qualify for PSLF.

Join Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), in collaboration with ALA's Chapter Relations Office, for this webinar designed to help you understand the steps to qualify and apply for Public Service Loan Forgiveness. We will help you understand the PLSF requirements, including these temporary changes, and give you practical tips to help you navigate the process.

The CFPB has online resources to help you understand the changes and how to apply and qualify for the PSLF program.  We published a blog that talks about the PSLF program and gives insight to the consumer's perspective.

Lastly, we provide answers to common questions in the PSLF Ask questions and our guides for AmeriCorpsPeace Corps volunteersTeachersPublic Service employees and First Responders
