I used a couple of donations that the friends didn't want - they were normal sized Adult books. I made this a few years ago so I don't remember 100%, just followed the tutorial. I would suggest a thinner rather than fatter book for the body as it will be less folding, then I used a second book for the pages to roll. I used a glue gun for the "feathers" and to attach them to the book.
Hope this helps, it was fun and it was our most highly liked Instagram post that year if I remember correctly.

Synthia, you rock! This is going on our calendar as our Thanksgiving craft. So cute and easy!

I had a question- did you use just a regular sized fiction book? It looks from the video like it is a longer book, so wanted feedback on how you did yours. Also, did you use a glue gun or craft glue?

Thanks again for sharing this idea, very cool and much appreciated.

I didn't do this as a program, i just made one for the desk but it was very easy to follow the instructions and there's a link to the head you can print out

I'm wondering if anyone has done a book folding project? Maybe as a Take & Make or as an in-person event? I'd like to do something kind of simple? I can find lots of pictures of these projects but not as many "free" instructions that aren't too involved.

I know that there are presenters that teach this type of craft but if I remember correctly they were kind of pricey and those were prices from a couple of years ago.

Thanks in advance.

Hi all my fellow librarians,

So we are in the process of planning our fall newsletter, and in need of some ideas.  Take home crafts are still in the works, but I was hoping for some ideas that were not craft related. Was thinking about handing out some new solitaire card instructions, maybe an elf on the shelf for adults where they could post pictures on our facebook.  A virtual book club did not work well here.
Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you all.
