The Joliet Public Library is seeking an energetic and community-minded Executive Director. Joliet,
located about 45 miles southwest of Chicago, is the fourth largest city in Illinois. Originally a
manufacturing town, Joliet is in the midst of a downtown renaissance that is helping to attract new
residents and a broader base of businesses.

The library is the heart of the community, with the main library playing an important role in the
revitalized downtown district and a popular branch serving residents in the fast-growing western part of
the city. JPL is committed to offering resources, programs and services for all members of the city's
diverse population. The library operates with a budget of $6.5 million and serves more than 147,000
residents of the City of Joliet.
