*COORDINATOR OF YOUTH SERVICES* *Traverse Area District Library* *Traverse City, Michigan* The Traverse Area District Library, headquartered in Traverse City, Michigan, is searching for an enthusiastic, well-rounded and technologically savvy professional librarian to serve as Coordinator of Youth Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of innovative and exciting library services for children from birth through grade five throughout the library district. Located in one of Michigan’s most desirable communities, the region is also home to Northwestern Michigan College, Interlochen Center for the Arts, the Traverse City Film Festival, the National Cherry Festival and Munson Medical Center. The Traverse Area District Library serves a population of 83,388 – Grand Traverse County and an additional three contracted townships. The staff of approximately 70 is partially unionized with a newly ratified agreement through 2015. The main library, two branches and three contractual libraries have a total budget of over $4.6 million and circulate over 1.25 million items annually. The position requires a Master’s Degree in Library Science or equivalent ALA accredited degree with three years of relevant public library experience, including some supervisory experience.
