CSLP Survey for 2027 Slogan/2028 Theme

Have you ever thought about where summer library themes and slogans come from? Who thinks them up? How we select each year’s slogan? Well, the answer is YOU!

Each year the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) seeks feedback from Michigan library staff for future summer slogan and theme suggestions. Libraries from across the nation also contribute, and together, we come to consensus. Now is your time to be heard! Please complete this brief survey to suggest a slogan for the 2027 theme of Mystery/Detective/Suspense and afresh, new theme for 2028.

Some tips for developing themes and slogans:

For a list of previous themes and slogans go to: https://www.cslpreads.org/themes-and-slogans/.

Please share your suggestions by Friday, February 16th, 2024.

I’ll send them out weekly to any requests from public library staff. Reminder: the storefront is also open, and some items are going fast.

A New Lens on Poverty | The Latest Brain Architects Podcast

Check out the latest episode of the Brain Architects Podcast, based on our recent webinar, A New Lens on Poverty: Working Towards Fairness of Place in the United States.

In this discussion, we explore how the qualities of the places where people live are shaped by historic and current policies, which have created deep disadvantage across many communities with important implications for the health and development of the children who live there. Drawing from the salient example of the Flint water crisis, we highlight opportunities and strategies to improve existing conditions to allow all children to thrive.

FAFSA Toolkit
Getting your students to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) can have a high return on investment when it comes to post-secondary attainment in your building. To help Principals and other educators promote FAFSA completion, Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP) has put together a toolkit of free resources. Use it, share it, and let's help Michigan students maximize their post-secondary opportunities!
